The recent graduation ceremony celebrating the ninth cohort from the “Achievement” Work-Readiness program, the collaboration between Al Wasl University and the Higher Colleges of Technology represented by “CERT,” marked the successful completion of 118 students in Information Technology, Office Management, and Customer Service.
Al Wasl University and the Higher Colleges of Technology, represented by the Center of Excellence for Applied Research & Training “CERT,” celebrated the graduation of the 9th cohort from the Work Readiness Program. The program aims to empower Emirati women with the essential skills for entering the workforce and pursuing entrepreneurial ventures. The ceremony was hosted at the Dubai campus of the Higher Colleges of Technology, attended by H.E Saeed Mohammad Al-Raqabani, Special Adviser to His Highness the Ruler of Fujairah, His Excellency Dr. Faisal Alayyan, President & CEO of Higher Colleges of Technology, Professor Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Al Wasl University, His Excellency Mohammed Gheyath, CEO of “CERT,” and various faculty and administrative members.
The celebration commenced with the national anthem, followed by a video presentation show casting The Work Readiness Program, speeches from the graduates, expressing their joy and gratitude for their achievements. They extended heartfelt thanks to His Excellency Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Al Wasl, for his unwavering support for the Work Readiness Program, and both Al Wasl University and the Higher Colleges of Technology, represented by “CERT,” for enabling their educational journey and for providing them with the opportunity to continue their education. Dr. Aref Al Sheikh then delivered a poignant poem in honor of the occasion.
H.E Saeed Mohammad Al-Raqabani conveyed his joy in graduating the 9th cohort of students from the Work Readiness Program, emphasizing its noble national mission of preparing Emirati women for active participation in the workforce. To date, the program has effectively facilitated job placements for 526 graduates.
He praised the efforts of His Excellency Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Wasl University, for his support and sponsorship of the Work Readiness Program in collaboration with the Higher Colleges of Technology, for his notable role and generous contributions to education, particularly in empowering Emirati women to become integral contributors to the nation’s advancement and prosperity.
Professor Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Al Wasl University, expressed his happiness with the 9th cohort of the Work Readiness Program, which graduated 118 students from its branches in Dubai and Fujairah this year. He encouraged female citizens to take advantage of the program’s free study and training opportunities. He added that six students from this year’s graduates benefited from the financial scholarship of His Excellency Juma Al Majid, valued at 2000 AED per month for each student continuing her studies. Currently, 191 students are enrolled in the program, with 1604 Emirati female students having graduated since the program began in 2013 in Dubai and Fujairah.
His Excellency Mohammed Gheyath, CEO of “CERT,” congratulated the Work Readiness Program graduates applauding their dedication to ongoing education and honoring the essential skills required for success in the labor market. He affirmed that every female citizen is an active force that must be rightly utilized through qualification and empowerment, allowing her to serve herself and her community. He expressed his appreciation for the support of His Excellency Juma Al Majid, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al Wasl University, for the Work Readiness Program. He valued the collaboration with Al Wasl University in developing and refining the program to align with the requirements of the labor market.
The graduation ceremony commenced afterward, during which H.E. Saeed Mohammad Al-Raqabani, His Excellency Dr. Faisal Alayyan, His Excellency Mohammed Gheyath, and Professor Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Rahman presented the graduates with their graduation certificates, followed by group photographs capturing the memorable moment.
